    On such a day as today, February 11, 1949, Robustiano Díaz Mateo was born. He was born in the Serranía de Ronda, in a town called Pujerra. Later, it moved to Júzcar (Ronda), town in which it was raised. After working at what he had, at the age of 13, he embarked on the adventure of traveling only to Madrid, where he worked in a family bar called “ Costa Sol”, located in the neighborhood of San Blas . Subsequently, and despite his youth (16 years), he decided to enter fully into the world of hospitality. After performing the military service, it launches more fully and, in 1972, march to Fuengirola (Malaga) knowing the kitchen and other secrets of the profession. He gained more experience, working as a waiter in a cafeteria-restaurant in Calipso (Mijas Costa). After that slight adventure, he decided to open his own beach bar in Mijas Costa, which he would call “Merendero El Juncal”, where, today, he still retains and works. The name ” El Juncal ” is due to the only urbanization that was then and still continues today. Later, in 1984, and coinciding with the birth of his second son, he decided to open his second restaurant, which was named “Daniel Restaurant” because of the name of his first child. Bar- Restaurante Daniel closed its doors in 1995, due to the incompatibility and the difficult task of carrying out the activity in both businesses.

After this slight adventure, he decided to set up his own restaurant in Mijas Costa, which called ”Merendero El Juncal”, and which nowadays, still retains and works. It name ”El Juncal” comes from a housing development there was in the area by the time the restaurant was set up. Later, in 1984, coinciding with the birth of her second child, he opened his second restaurant, which was called ”Restaurante Daniel” because the name of his first child. ”Restaurante Daniel” closed its doors in 1995 due to the incompatibility and the difficult task of carrying out the activity in both businesses.
